I went to three garage sales today and raked it in! The prices were FABULOUS and I even got the courage up to ask for a bargain on the doilies. YAY! When I find such cool stuff, I get a little tipsy with inspiration and I can hardly wait to start on my ideas.
Dream Catchers
I plan to take a razor blade to extract the rings in the lamp shade. That way each ring will have cost $1.00. Then the doilies will be stretched to make faux dream catchers. I hope incorporate the tassels on the end of the shawl somehow.
Glammed up Mermaid-y Candlesticks
Couldn’t believe each of these candle votives were only $.25! I have lots of candlesticks so I plan to make some kind of “Mermaid-y” glammed up candlesticks.
Beachy Wall Hangings
I am probably most excited about this $1.00 find, a bunch of rusty flower bed border. I can hang driftwood, shells, and starfish. I want to work on one right now, but I have to finish this post so you can see what fun it is to find this cool stuff.
Shooting Star Wall Hangings
These are going to have glittery wires shooting out one point of the star so it can be a shooting star. I am delighted to find these because I am going to use these for my booth at the Holiday Gift Fair in November.
One thing for me! I couldn’t believe it was $8.00. TWOZDAI A. HULSE is the artist and this is a gallery wrapped canvas print. I spent many, many hours at the Pike Place Public Market in Seattle, Washington as a teenager. I can still smell the hot cinnamon spicy smell that permeates the lower floors of the market.
I love my treasures! You never know what you will find at a garage sale and the excitement is amplified when the prices are so reasonable.
What a great selection of goodies!
