CASPARI NAPKIN WREATH

I made another Caspari  paper napkin wreath because the last post didn’t  have a good tutorial so folks could see my tips and tricks.  The Caspari Napkin Wreath went to a loving home as a Christmas present!  The gal who purchased it for her mother said it was the only thing her Mom wanted for Christmas….YAY!

Supplies:  metal wreath form, Caspari Napkins, and assortment of shells, white cardboard or mat board, crocheted pieces, Mod Podge, hot glue gun.

Cut out the napkin shell elements and make a piece of cardboard so most of the surrounding blue won’t show.  Isn’t it fun to use paper napkins as an unexpected craft material?

Using mod podge or hot glue if you wish, glue the napkin to the front and fold the edges over and hot glue them down on the back side.

Even though the pieces are flat, they really look like nautilus and a sand dollar.  The actual shell appears to be doodle art!

Place the nautilus “shells” and the sand dollars around the bottom securing with a bit of hot glue on the wreath form wire and a dab of hot glue where the pieces touch each other.  I cut up crochet pieces and tack them with hot glue to the wreath form because the shells stubbornly stay on fabric!  (You can hardly remove shells that have been hot glued to fabric even if you want to remove them.)

After the Nautilus and sand dollars are all attached to the wire form flip it over and secure each end with some hot glue covered with a bit of paper.  AHA! The pieces are very secure!

Now just play with your design!  TIP: when you are attaching shells, it is easiest to only glue the end area so it will “flap up” then you can tuck other shells under it.  Then you can add glue to secure the pieces so they are solidly together.
