Good Friday!

Jesus came to die for YOU and me!  He paid for our sins whether we believe in Him or not.  I love the saying in my little “Good Friday Collage”  “I asked Jesus how much He loves me and He said ‘this much’ and He stretched out his hands and died.”  That’s the Good Friday message in a nutshell.

This week I bought a little storybook “Bible” for my grandson and was surprised to see his Bible didn’t mention Jesus dying for us and His resurrection.  It ended with the story of Jesus saying “Let the children come unto me.”  The end of the book said Jesus wants to be our friend.  He does!

However, the storybook Bible left out the most important story and the whole point of the Bible….we are sinners and Jesus didn’t come to condemn us, He came to pay the penalty of sin for us.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever believeth on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17

“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life” Romans 6:23. Jesus died in our place.  Our response is to REPENT. ( Change your mind, go in a different direction)

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” Acts 2:38

Good Friday is when Jesus paid the penalty for our sins.  He paid the penalty for me and you.  So what happens next?  You know the saying, “the balls in your court”? WELL, IT IS!  Jesus died for you, me, and everyone since Adam and Eve down to the baby being born this very minute.  Whether we know it or we  “voting” with the way we live our life.  Pencil in your answer:

⊕: YES                 ⊗: NO

YES:  “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved”.  Acts 16:31  YAY!

I said YES when I was 10 years old and it was the best day of my life!  Happy Good Friday everyone!
