I have been making some easy Mother’s Day crafts using some old CD’s that have stacked up. I was inspired to turn the cases into gift card holders that are perfect for a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift!
Start by removing the inside cd liners and disc cradle and toss them into the recycle bin. If you want to make your own designs, the measurement for the front cover is 4.75″x 4.75. The inside back is 4.75″ x 5.70″. However you might want to check out the attached PDF’s for the front cover, the reverse of the front cover and the back inside. Just click and print.
The sky is the limit how you can decorate and personalize a cd case! I had fun using magazine fonts and scrapbooking paper. Then you simply attach the gift card with some double stick tape and write your greeting on the inside back.
I thought it would be fun to make up a bunch for my friends who have birthdays this summer. Our traditional gift is a gift card! So I found vintage magazine advertisements and turned them into these fun printouts for CD case covers. Use your own scrapbook paper to line the back side of the front and inside back cover. Simply click and print the templates.

Now that I have my Ipod I don’t listen to the CD’s, so I am going to put the stack of cases in a drawer and repurpose all of them into gift packaging. I just discovered thin chocolate bars fit!
What a great idea! A perfect way to give gifts!
