Several weeks ago I found this lamp shade at a garage sale and finally finished it!
I have way too many ceramic black beads right now and was happy to find this very sturdy lamp shade that could support some heavy black beads.
This cute hanging lamp featuring playing cards and dominoes was hanging in Sunrose Gallery here in Seaside, Oregon for one year and didn’t sell to the amazement of the gallery owner. She said so many people liked it! I brought it home with the idea of using the black chain and lamp works with a sturdy lamp shade to use up some of my ceramic black beads.
So I look apart the elements and tossed the playing cards in the trash. The bottom “swirl” pieces of the lamp became the top of the new lamp shade.
I found the cute black and white striped beads at JoAnn’s and didn’t try to make the strands match up…I like the zigzag appearance. The lamp was really fun to start…. not so fun to finish!!!! LOL
I got an Edison style bulb that I think adds so much whimsical style and compliments the openness of the bead strands! This hanging lamp will be a truly OOAK addition to someone’s home who has an eclectic sense of style.
I still have a drawer full of black beads and can hardly wait for some more inspiration to empty my drawer!
so pretty!
