Simple Personalized Craft Clock

clock gift feature

Have you seen what folks do with vintage clocks?  I have taken one apart before and made it into a gift.  It looks a lot easier than it is to convert an alarm clock! This clock will be a fun gift to give to my son and daughter-in-law because it features a printout of their home….on a wintery Christmas night.

I found this faux clock at a garage sale for $2.00 but you can get them at most craft stores or online for about $10.00 if you get inspired to make this OOAK personalized Christmas craft.

This is what the Tim Holtz clock looks like.  They are super easy to decorate.

To make mine, I covered a round piece of cardstock that completely covered the removable back with black glitter.  I had some little gold stars that I attached after the glitter was dry.

Next I printed out my son and daughter-in-law’s house on heavy cardstock.  After I printed it and cut it out, I put a nice thick layer of crystal glitter on the house edges to simulate snow.

To finish the project, add about 1 inch of crystal glitter to the clock and press the back in place securely.  Last, I printed out a little banner to decorate the front.

I love personalized gifts and the cool thing is that since you can still remove the back my daughter-in-law can update it with her ideas if she wants to.

This idea is very simple but here are some really inspiring ideas that take a little more time:

These altered clocks are so pretty, but I like mine the best because it is personalized and OOAK.  It will be fun to tuck in a Christmas gift bag and give it to my daughter-in-law.
