A few minutes after I placed my Pier One Imports order of 14 placemats, I checked out Etsy to see if I could find some unusual mixes of ribbons and buttons to decorate the placemats. I scored!
Some of the ribbons went to decorate a placemat wall hanging and I had enough left to make this whimsical driftwood and copper wall hanging.
I found the copper plumber’s strip (it is used to hang pipe) in the kitchen junk drawer! It was the perfect base to tie on ribbons, beads and wire. I used scraps of copper and silver ArtEmboss, in several shapes and sizes for interest. After all the holes were filled, I attached it to a pretty piece of driftwood. I drilled two holes in the driftwood and added a brass wire handle.
The wall hanging looks cute in my diningroom but it is headed to Sunrose Gallery here in Seaside, Oregon where it will probably go home with a tourist one of these days after Spring Break. We always look forward to Spring when the tourists crowd the highway on Friday night and the hotels flip on their “NO VACANCY” signs.
I really really like this one😊👍
