It is so fun to repurpose something and make it your new favorite craft supply! I have seen puzzle art on Pinterest and decided to try it.
I purchased this 24 piece puzzle at Dollar Tree for $1.00 and had so much fun making an experimental piece of art.
I have files full of art images I tear out of magazines. It was easy to trace the shape of the puzzle piece on each colorful image and cut to be the shape of each individual piece. I attached the images with glue stick, slowly covering the original puzzle kitty cat image.
I tried to have an assortment of faces, and recognizable things like birds and trees with various words as well for background interest. I like the idea that you see something different each time you look at the piece.
I attached the puzzle to a 10 x 10 gallery wrapped canvas and applied jewelry findings to decorate the top and bottom edges. Last, I used glue stick to adhere FREE MAGAZINE FONT for my new favorite saying!
Very creative and awesome!

Sun fun!! Great idea for one of those “There’s nothing to do!!” days when the grands visit the farm this summer. I knew there was a good reason why I hadn’t chucked the box of paper, fabric and misc. scraps.
