I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the cake servers for $2.00 each. I haven’t seen silverplate cake servers for years! I used to find them at sales all the time and used them in many crafts. When I made the soldered stain glass cake slices it felt like old home week. teehee
Step #1. Print and cut out the pattern (FREE PDF PRINTOUT) in cardstock and trace the pattern on the glass.
Step #2. Cut out the glass and clean the glass to remove all oil.
Step #3. Cover all the edges of the glass with copper foil.
Step #4. Brush Solder Flux over all the copper foil edges.
Step #5. Solder each piece and join together with solder.
Step #6. Wash the soldered cake piece and remove all the flux residue.
Next, dry the cake piece and attach it to the cake server with E6000.
I had some white paper roses that I attached to simulate frosting flowers. These cake servers are cute on the whimsical kitchen wall!
